KARACHI, Feb 23: The March 2 million march will be a show of Ummah’s unity against the United States and a referendum against the supporters of the US policies towards Pakistan.

This was stated by Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui, the city chief of Jamaat-i-Islami, and Rabia Alam, chief of the party’s women wing.

They were addressing separate gatherings of the representatives of different organisations which were held to finalize arrangement of the planned march.

Ms Alam stressed that by participating in a huge number, women, to be drawn from all walks of life, would demonstrate solidarity with the Muslims of Iraq. She said that the massive march would effectively impress upon the US that Muslims condemned the US for its onslaught against the Ummah by declaring Muslims as terrorists. She said that the US highhandedness was a challenge to the Ummah which could be met only through the unity.

Tehreek-i-Istiqlal leaders announced at a meeting held on Sunday that they would join in the million march.
