KARACHI, Feb 18: The committees, consisting of shiftees of Lyari Expressway Project, have started working for the solution of different issues of their “Basti” which is fast coming up on Hawkesbay Road.

The committee on water supply held a meeting here on Tuesday with the project director, Shafiqur Rehman Paracha, and proposed that the number of water tanks be increased so as to cope up with the growing construction activity in the area.

The project management has constructed 15 tanks and another 15 tanks would be added on the committee’s proposal.

The committee members expressed satisfaction that work on laying of water and sewerage pipelines had started. They were assured that work would be completed in two months.

It also expressed satisfaction over speedy construction of storm-water drain.

It thanked the DG Rangers for his visit to the area and his announcement for gift of five water tanks for the Basti.—APP
