Hameed Haroon injured inaccident

THATTA, Feb 16: The Chief Executive of Dawn Group of Newspapers and President of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), Mr Hameed Haroon, suffered injuries in a road accident on the National Highway, 16 kilometres off here on Sunday evening.

His double-cabin Toyota pick-up was being driven by Captain (retd) Fahim-uz-Zaman. The vehicle fell into a roadside watercourse after being out of control while saving a pedestrian near Gulistan Farm.

Mr Haroon was returning to Karachi after attending a meeting at the Circuit House, Makli, to finalize arrangements for the APNS Awards ceremony at Makli.

Mr Haroon was rushed to the Agha Khan Hospital, Karachi. The condition of the pedestrian, Imran Khan, a picnicker from Malir, Karachi, who was hit by the vehicle, was stated to be critical.

He was shifted to a Karachi hospital.

According to doctors, Mr Haroon had suffered minor injuries and his condition was stable.
