KARACHI, Feb 16: The Chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party, Ms Benazir Bhutto, strongly condemned the murder of Nabi Bux Bhutto, a party activist, in an attack in Larkana on Saturday in which three other persons were seriously injured.

Accusing the state machinery of involvement in the attack, Ms Bhutto demanded arrest of the culprits and punishment to all those involved.

She has also directed the party’s media coordinator, Jamil Soomro, to visit the town, collect the facts and send a detailed report to her.

In her statement, issued by the party’s media cell at Bilawal House here on Sunday, she alleged that the state machinery was harassing PPP workers and supporters in Sindh, especially in Larkana.

“Law-enforcement agencies, instead of performing their duties and protecting lives and property of people, are indulged in carrying out retributive acts against PPP and workers of other opposition parties,” she claimed. —PPI
