KARACHI, Feb. 11: MPA Mohammad Younus Barai said on Tuesday that provision of cheap and quality education to the masses is the responsibility of the government.

However, community should also play its role for provision of facilities at educational institutes and for improvement of literacy rate.

He was speaking at a ceremony for handing over furniture and other necessities, arranged by philanthropists and area people, to Govt. Boys Primary School, UC-11 Gulshan-i-Iqbal.

EDO Zia-ul-Hassan Abro also spoke and thanked philanthropists and area people for providing furniture, fans and other equipment worth Rs30 000 for the school.

Teachers, councillors and notables of the area, besides students and their parents also attended the ceremony.—PPI
