KARACHI: Teenager commits suicide

KARACHI, Feb 9: A teenage boy committed suicide at his house in Korangi Industrial Area on Sunday.

The police said Mohammed Taufiq, aged 15, hanged himself from a ceiling fan after locking himself up in a room at his house in Gulzar Colony, Hazara Chowk, Korangi Industrial Area.

The police said the boy’s mother had earlier scolded him for his poor performance at studies.

The boy failed his matriculation examination.

The body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post- mortem.

KILLED: The body of a young man was recovered from the sea in Docks police limits on Sunday.

The police said the body of Mohammed Riaz, aged 22, was fished out of the sea at berth No 21. The body was stuffed into a gunny bag and the young man’s throat and wrist were slit by a sharp-edged weapon.

The body was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

The young man, resident of Keamari, had left home on Thursday night.

An unidentified young man was found murdered in Sachal police limits.

The police said the body of an unidentified man, who was in his mid-30s, was found on the main road near Kiran Hospital, opposite New Rizvia Society.

The dead man had stab wounds in his abdomen and chest, and his throat was also slit by a sharp-edged weapon. He was wearing shalwar-kameez and had a beard.

The body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.

An unidentified young man was found dead in Shah Latif police limits.

The police said the body of an unidentified young man was found near Shamsee Apartments. The dead man had suffered a head injury inflicted by a blunt weapon.

The body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.
