KARACHI: A man was arrested for attacking two women polio vaccinators and a police guard in Baldia Town on Tuesday, officials said.

They added that a polio team comprising two women, escorted by a police constable, came under attack outside a house in Baldia Town’s Sector 8.

“The man was identified as Bahadur, 24, who fired a shot in air with an unlicensed pistol,” said ASI Shafiq Anjum. He said the suspect fired another shot at Constable Devand Ram and fled.

“Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a house of his relatives and managed to arrest him,” the ASI said, adding that he had been booked for attempt to murder and interruption in official duty.
