KARACHI: Pakistan's Test and ODI captain, Misbah-ul-Haq, reportedly said no to a lucrative offer from county side Worcestershire due to commitments with the national team, according to ESPNCricinfo.

Misbah said he had been offered a two year deal to be Worcestershire's overseas player but he refused because of his duties with national team.

"It was potentially a lucrative deal for me but it was actually clashing with my international commitment," Misbah told ESPNcricinfo.

"They actually offered me a two-year contract with an extension of one more year on mutual agreement.

Misbah said it would have been a great experience but his role with the national side is more important.

"Playing county is obviously a great experience but for a while I think I have a key role in Pakistan cricket and I am fully committed to the team."

After a deal with Misbah could not be agreed upon, Worcestershire signed Sri Lanka's Thilan Samaraweera for the 2013 season.
