LAHORE, April 12: Six newly-appointed additional judges of the Lahore High Court on Friday took oath of their offices.

Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial administered oath to the new additional judges at a ceremony attended by judges working at the principal seat, federal and provincial law officers, the LHCBA president and members of the bar. Members of the judges’ families were also present.

The judges who took oath were Justice Shoaib Saeed, Justice Athar Mahmood, Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan, Justice Alia Neelam, Justice Shahzada Mazhar and Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh.

After these fresh appointments, the number of judges in the high court rose to 41 against an approved strength of 60.
