QUETTA: The Chief of Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Sardar Akhtar Mengal has said military operations were still underway and that dead bodies of youngsters were being found in Balochistan.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal arrived in Quetta after four years to kick start his party's election campaign.
A large number of BNP(M) supporters took to the streets and roads to welcome Mengal. His supporters waved flags and chanted slogans in his support.
Mengal while talking to newsmen at Quetta airport, said that a conducive atmosphere was required for free and transparent elections in Balochistan. He said that symbolic moves cannot ensure transparency of elections.
The BNP(M) chief said there were still many no-go areas in Balochistan and that rulers must realise the sensitivity of the situation on the ground.
He said his party leaders and workers sacrificed their lives to uphold the banner of Baloch rights.
"The courage of colleagues convinced me to take part in the polls," Mengal said.
Mengal said the warm reception by Baloch masses was proof of his party's popularity among the people.
