PESHAWAR, Jan 28: The Khyber Union of Journalists on Tuesday staged a demonstration for the implementation of the 7th Wage Award in the newspaper industry.

A large number of newspaper workers took part in the demonstration held in front of the Peshawar Press Club. Two women MPAs — Dr Simeen Mahmood (PML-Q) and Ghaliba Khursheed (MMA) — Shamim Safia, member district council, and NGOs activists also attended the demonstration.

The women MPAs said that the NWFP Assembly had unanimously passed a resolution in its last session, demanding implementation of the 7th wage award forthwith.
