KARACHI, Jan 28: The provincial Home Minister, Syed Sardar Ahmad, said on Tuesday that as per the new strategy aimed at improving law and order, an SHO would be held responsible for the crime taking place in his jurisdiction. The minister made it clear that the SHO would be removed if he failed to control the crime.

He was talking to newsmen after the Sindh Assembly session during which he expressed dissatisfaction over the prevailing law and order situation.

He observed that incidents of carjacking and dacoities were continuing unabetted in the province. He, however, acknowledged the problems faced by the police and said that efficient and honest police personnel would be rewarded suitably. Those who would play a positive role in combating crime would be promoted and granted other benefits, he added.

The minister referred to the steps taken in certain areas of the province and said that the police officers were sitting idle in Mirpurkhas and Larkana would also be given responsibilities.
