KARACHI: Pakistan brushed aside Syria 2-1 to advance into the semi-finals of the junior Davis Cup in Kuching, Malaysia, on Thursday.

According to results reaching here, Pakistan faces Singapore in the semi-final on Friday.

Meanwhile, Pakistan suffered 0-3 loss at the hands of Sri Lanka in the junior Fed Cup. The Pakistani girls play Jordan on Friday.

Meanwhile, the president of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Kaleem Imam has commended performance of Pakistani boys and girls in the two events being played simultaneously.

In a statement he said Pakistani players were doing well given the resources and conditions.

Doubles: Nethmie/Kavindya bt Iman/Rida 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(7).
