THIS is apropos of the letter ‘Strikes affecting education’. The writer has rightly mentioned the impact of strikes on education in Karachi. The situation is no different in Hyderabad and Jamshoro districts.

Considered as the cities of education, these districts have the country’s high-ranked universities like Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences. Students from every corner of the province get admission with dreams in their eyes to make their future secure.

These strikes not only cause delay in semester examinations, but there is also interruption in study which results in loss of quality education.

The government must look into this grave issue and find and formulate an alternative to such strikes so that it may not affect education.
