KARACHI: The death toll from Tuesday night’s blast at an election camp of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in North Nazimabad rose to four on Wednesday when two more wounded men died during treatment, police said.

While an FIR of the blast was registered on behalf of the state at the Taimuria police station, the police could not make any headway in probe into the deadly blast.

Two MQM workers, Saad Hashim and Ajmal Hussain, had died instantly and over two dozen others had suffered injuries in the blast. Two of them, Nadeem Paracha and Mohammad Bilal, died early Wednesday, raising the death toll to four, said District Central SSP Amir Farooqui.Meanwhile, the FIR was registered under the Pakistan Penal Code, Anti-Terrorism Act and Explosive Act against unidentified suspects, the SSP said.
