DHAKA, Jan 23: The Workers Party of Bangladesh, an opposition left-wing party, staged an anti-US demonstration over its policy about Iraq in front of the foreign ministry office here on Wednesday.

More than 100 activists of the party formed a human chain, carrying placards that read slogans like “Down with Bush, the new Hitler” and “Disarm America first.”

They also chanted anti-US slogans.

After the demonstration, Foreign Secretary Shamser Mobin Chowdhury told reporters that Bangladesh wanted a peaceful resolution to the crisis through the United Nations.
