KARACHI: Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Federation (PBSF) on Monday dispelled the impression that the first leg of Indo-Pak snooker series to be held in Pakistan would be postponed and announced that the event would go ahead as planned.

“I spoke to the Secretary Generalof the Indian federation this afternoon. He assured me that they will be visiting Pakistan for the series as per schedule,” PBSF Chief Alamgir Shaikh said.

Reports emerging from various sources had said Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) was rethinking their visit to Karachi after the bomb blasts in Abbas Town.

“Indian team is scheduled to collect visas from New Delhi and is scheduled to arrive here by an Air Lanka flight from Colombo on Wednesday,” Alamgir added.

A four-member Indian team will arrive in Karachi on March 6 and will play the series from March 7-10, with the format to be decided next week. The return leg of the series is yet to be decided.
