KARACHI: 10 cars, 15 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Jan 21: Twenty-five vehicles — 10 cars and 15 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Tuesday, police said.

Six cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen.

The cars were hijacked/stolen in Saddar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Malir, Defence, etc.

Ten motorcycles were hijacked. Five others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Tuesday to have recovered seven vehicles.

RECOVERED: Police recovered a motorcycle hijacked from a police official during snap check of vehicles in Mubina Town late Monday night and arrested two suspects.

The motorcycle (KCM-1535) was hijacked from Inspector Sarbuland Khan in Nazimabad Gol Market on May 24 last year.

During snap check of vehicles on Jhangvi Road, the SHO Mubina Town recovered the motorcycle and arrested two suspects, identified as Akhlaq and Inayat.

Police said the motorcycle carried a fake registration number plate (KCM-1535) when it was recovered from the suspects.
