HYDERABAD, Feb 14: Describing Sirajul Haq Memon as a renowned scholar and author, speakers at a condolence reference said on Thursday that research must be conducted on the personality and literary works of Mr Memon for the benefit of the new generation.

They said Mr Memon had great love and affection towards Sindh, its language and culture.

He left many messages in his writings for Sindhi people to help them win great positions by learning and play their role in development.

Scholar and researcher Mohammad Ibrahim Joyo said works of Mr Memon would remain alive for generations. Sindhi society had become like orphan after his death, he said, adding that it would take centuries to fill the vacuum created after his death. He said the works of Mr Memon could guide the Sindhi nation.

Author Hameed Sindhi said Mr Memon was a daring person who had faced all challenges and worked for the welfare of Sindhi society.

Son of the late Sirajul Haq Memon Amjad Siraj Memon said his family would set up a Sirajul Haq Institute of Sindh Study in Karachi where his works would be highlighted and promoted.

Researcher Dr Habibullah Siddiqui said the literary works of Mr Memon would guide the youth.

Scholars Parwana Bhatti, Mohammad Hashim Leghari and Dr Tehmina Mufti also addressed the reference held at the auditorium of the Sindhi Language Authority.
