LAHORE, Feb 7: The Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) has decided to continue with its outreach to the parties, who have not been part of “Muk Muka” or deal in the last five years, said PTI Information Secretary Shafqat Mahmood in a statement.

Mr Mahmood said the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) was desperate to cover up its “Muk Muka” with President Asif Zardari over the last five years. He alleged that the PML-N had gone into a paranoid state and seeing army hatching conspiracies even in its dreams.

The PTI spokesman said the PML-N and the PPP were two sides of the same political oligarchy that had ruled this country for the last 30 years. They had brought the country to its knees through their corruption. Their fixed politics or “noorakushti” does not hide the fact that they did not mind each other coming into power, he added.

He said no attempt was made by NAB to actively prosecute Sharifs although six corruption cases were pending against them.

He said the prospects of other parties coming into power had scared the PML-N and the PPP. He said both parties had fears that the accountability of their misdeeds would become possible, if the PTI would come in power. It was for this reason that they ganged up against the PTI and were desperate to keep it out of power by hook or by crook.

Mr Mahmood said the PTI would not tolerate delay in general elections, which should also be free, fair and transparent. He said the PTI had serious problems with Election Commission’s role because despite repeated references sent to it regarding misuse of funds by ruling party and jobs for votes policy, very little had been done. He said the EC’s performance was also disappointing during the bye-elections.

Stating that the party had no plans to enter into alliance with any party, the PTI information secretary said it would continue meeting parties outside the parliament and the issue of seat adjustment or an alliance would be decided in due course.
