President visits field formation

LAHORE, Jan 18: President Musharraf visited a field formation on the second day of his visit to Lahore Garrison on Saturday.

He was accompanied by Corps Commander Lt-Gen Zarrar Azim.

Talking informally to the troops engaged in training activities, the president said that there was no substitute for peace-time training, and urged them to concentrate fully on upgradation of their tactical skills and enhancement of professional capability.

He said that courage, determination and operational preparedness had provided deterrence to our armed forces.—APP
