ISLAMABAD, Jan 29: Outlaws played badly in just one quarter and it cost them the whole match of the Falcons Invitational Basketball Tournament 2013 against Islamabad Rhinos, who won 48-46 here on Tuesday.

Fast University, Raptors and Rawalpindi Falcons were the other teams to register victories at the Sector I-8 court on Tuesday.

Outlaws had a miserable first quarter in which nothing went right for them.

They managed just one point off a free throw in 10 minutes while Islamabad Rhinos opened up an 11-point advantage.

Even though Outlaws outscored Rhinos 15-12 in each of the next three quarters, they were unable to wipe out the lead they conceded in the first quarter and lost by just two points in the end.

Saad Aslam scored 19 points for Islamabad Rhinos while their other main players were Asif Awan (10) and Huzaifa Masood (9).

Kashan Rana led Outlaws’ challenge with 34 points while Zaveen Waqar added 11.

Fozan Gillani contributed 38 points as Fast University hammered Islamabad Wolves 76-15 in a one-sided affair.

Shaharyar Toor and Bakhtawar Taimoor were the other main players for Fast with 15 and 10 points respectively.

Hamza Lodhi (6) and Saad Amir (4) were Wolves’ notable scorers.

Raptors completed a comfortable 52-42 victory over Islamabad Bulls.

Bilal Baqir was Raptors’ best scorer with 23 points while Basim Raza (5) and Maqsood Ahmed (4) also had a good game.

Talha Shabbir (22), Sayed Mujtaba (9) and Nauman Nazir (6) played well for Islamabad Bulls.

Rawalpindi Falcons defeated Crushers 35-32 in a low-scoring match.

Shariq Niaz led Falcons’ scorers with 13 points while Mahboob Ahmad and Salman Ali added 12 and four points respectively.

Junaid Ali was Crushers’ best player, scoring 10 points.
