GUJAR KHAN, Jan 27: A six-month-old baby girl died of measles in the Gujar Khan city on Saturday.

According to sources, Anfa Kaleem had contracted measles from her mother. Dr Anwarul Haq Qureshi, a child specialist who had been treating the baby, told Dawn that Anfa was a confirmed case of measles.

At the age of six months, it was difficult for her to recover.

He said vaccination at this age was not possible and children with weak immunity were prone to death from the disease.

He said at least two cases of measles were being reported to his clinic every week.
