CHAKWAL, Jan 22: Three men were shot dead in three separate incidents, police sources said on Tuesday.

In the first incident, Mohammad Pervez, a resident of Lakhwal village, was found dead in a water canal called Parwali at Neela Road.

He was shot twice by unknown assailants.

According to his brother Mohammad Javed, Mohammad Pervez went to Odherwal village where he worked as a cobbler but did not return home.

His body was spotted by passers-by who informed Saddar police. “He was a poor man and did not have any enmity with anyone. We are trying our best to trace the killers,” Investigation Officer Raja Mohammad Aslam told Dawn.

In another incident, the body of Mohammad Amir, a resident of Dalwal village, was found lying in the fields of the village. According to Choa Saidan Shah police, Mohammad Amir used to work in Dubai.

He divorced his first wife from whom he had a daughter. His wife and daughter were living with the father of Amir and his relations with his father were also sour.

He returned from Dubai a few days ago to marry with another woman.

On Monday evening he went to offer prayer at the grave of his mother in the village graveyard where he was shot dead by unknown killers.

In the third incident Mohammad Khalil, a resident of Khai village, was shot dead under mysterious circumstances.

Mohammad Usman, the brother of Khalil, told Kallar Kahar police that his brother left home on Monday noon.

At 1:30am early Tuesday someone knocked the door of their house. When they opened the door, they saw Zaigham Shah, a friend of Khalil.

Zaigham told the family members that Khalil was injured and lying in the car.

They rushed him on the car of Zaigham to a hospital in Islamabad where he died.

Zaigham disappeared after dropping the body of Khalil in Chakwal.

“We are investigating the matter through different angles,” a police official at Kallar Kahar police station said.

Dawn has learnt that Khalil and Zaigham were involved in robberies.
