ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday decided to send Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi to meet with chief of the Tehrik-i-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Dr Tahirul Qadri, DawnNews reported.

The two leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q) would be apprising the TMQ chief on the political and economic hazards that may crop up due to the sit-in, sources said.

They would also inform Qadri on the repercussions that may arise if the sit-in does not conclude, DawnNews quoted sources as saying.

Moreover, the PML-Q leaders would assure Qadri and his supporters that if they conclude the sit-in, some of their "legitimate" demands would be met by the government.

Elahi, who is also the deputy prime minister, was returning to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia on directions from President Asif Ali Zardari.
