MARDAN, Jan 15: The NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has announced a grant of Rs one million to improve the working of the operation theatre at DHQ Hospital, Mardan.

Taking note of the severe problems faced by the patients due to bad condition of the theatre during his visit to the hospital on Wednesday, the governor said that concrete initiatives were required not only to improve the overall condition of the hospital but also to carry out extensive modification in its existing infrastructure.

The governor also expressed concern over the faulty air-condition system and stressed the need for making proper alternative arrangements in this connection.

Responding to another point during inspection of the x-ray unit and laboratories at the hospital, the governor desired that the hospital’s management gave special consideration to extending maximum resources out of the IBP funds for both the segments.
