KARACHI: Nine cars, 18 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Jan 15: Twenty-seven vehicles — nine cars and 18 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Wednesday, police said.

Five cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen.

Eight motorcycles were hijacked. Ten others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Wednesday to have recovered 11 vehicles — six cars and five motorcycles — in the city.

ROBBERIES: Four robberies were committed in the city on Wednesday, police said.

Four armed men barged into the house of Fareed Khan in Al-Falah Society, Malir, early in the morning, held the occupants of the house hostage at gunpoint and got away with cash and valuables.

Two armed men entered a house in Nazimabad No 3 and looted cash and gold jewellery.

Three armed men barged into a house in Federal B Area and got away with cash, a TV set and a computer. Armed men, riding a motorcycle, robbed a young man of his cellular phone in Saddar.
