KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf held a meeting with leaders of allied parties at the Bilawal House on Thursday and exchanged views on the current situation in the country with special focus on energy issues, law & order and coalition matters.

All coalition partners reiterated their full support to the government during the meeting, said spokesperson to President Senator Farhatullah Babar.

The meeting was attended by PML-Q chief Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan and Senator Shahi Syed, MQM leaders Dr Farooq Sattar, Senator Babar Khan Ghouri, Munir Khan Orakzai, Hameedullah Jan Afridi and Senator Abbas Khan Afridi.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the PPP chairman, and MNA Faryal Talpur also attended the meeting, Mr Babar said.

Earlier, ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan called on President Asif Ali Zardari. Federal Minister Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah was also present during the meeting, which discussed the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The president condoled with ANP chief over the death of his party’s senior leader Bashir Ahmed Bilour in a suicide attack last month.
