KARACHI: Sindh Election Commissioner Mehmoob Anwar has said that door-to-door verification of electoral rolls in Karachi is being started from Thursday.

Addressing a press conference at his office on Wednesday, he said that the verification process of 6.9 million registered voters in the metropolis is expected to be completed within next 20 days.

He said that verification work will be carried out by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) staff and they will be provided security by Pakistan Army personnel.

He said that the Election Commission staff will go from house-to-house to verify electoral rolls and check the authenticity of voters.

Mehboob Anwar further said that Pakistan Rangers, Sindh Police, education department and the city administration are already actively involved in facilitating the ECP.
