THIS refers to the daily targeted killings and other crimes reported by your paper. A couple of years ago the paper also used to report daily a number of cars/motorcycles stolen and cellphones snatched. Has it been discontinued because in the presence of bigger crimes these are not worth reporting?
What the police are doing to curb crime is another matter. The media must, however, continue to do its duty in highlighting all crimes, even phone and purse snatching. I hope someday the conscience of the ruling elite and police officials might be pricked.
