In memoriam

Published January 1, 2013

I APPRECIATE the spirit behind the letter ‘Naming Clifton Road as Cowasjee Avenue’ (Dec 14) by Mohammed Aziz Haji Dossa. We should certainly do that and name some other monument or philanthropic activity after him.

Changing the name of a road named after a departed British or Hindu gentleman is exactly the sort of thing he would not have approved of. This is my opinion based after reading Cowasjee columns for the last 25 or so years.

Let us build something new to his memory which also has meaning and utility as he was obviously a very practical man.
