Power thief convicted

LAHORE, Dec 26: A special judicial magistrate of Wapda on Wednesday sentenced a steel mill owner to one-year imprisonment over electricity theft.

The Shalimar sub-division officer had a case registered against Muhammad Rizwan of Haq Steel Mills on charges of tampering with the electricity meter and causing a loss of Rs900,000 to Lesco.

Magistrate Noor Muhammad Awan sentenced Rizwan to one year in jail and Rs5,000 fine. — Staff Reporter
