LAHORE, Jan 12: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that his government would continue to work for the betterment of the people.

He was speaking at a public meeting at Gowalmandi held to muster support for the PML-Q candidate to the bye-election to a Punjab Assembly seat.

Minister Arshad Khan Lodhi, Kamil Ali Agha, Ms Nasim Lodhi and Dr Anjum Amjad also spoke on the occasion.

The chief minister said the provincial government had made a development package for Lahore but he would announce it after the bye-election because of a ban by the Election Commission.

“I would make you happy with this package,” he said while announcing ownership rights for the dwellers of some katchi abadis in Shahalam Gate. He also announced the reinstatement of some LDA workcharge employees on the demand of people. — Staff Reporter
