QUETTA, Dec 11: At least seven people, including four security personnel, were killed and 16 others injured on Tuesday in a head-on collision between a passenger coach and a tanker on Karachi-Quetta National Highway in Wadh area of Khuzdar district, some 370km from here.

Levies Force sources said a passenger coach on way to Karachi from Quetta rammed into a tanker coming from the opposite direction.

“Seven passengers were killed on the spot and 16 others seriously injured,” the sources said, adding the dead included four Army personnel.

The dead and injured were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital Khuzdar where some seriously injured were referred to Quetta.

The deceased were identified as bus driver Bashir, tanker driver Muhammad Hayat, Muhammad Akram, Liaquat Ali, Ibadat. Ali, Muhammad Zaheer and Noorullah.

The cause of accident was said to be over-speeding and a case had been registered, they said.
