Rescue organisations

THIS refers to the death of a young man who jumped from the eighth floor of a building in Karachi and died while trying to avoid fire. TV news channels repeatedly showed the man falling to his death.

The whole story reminds me of the infamous photograph that appeared in the American press day after the Sept 11 attacks.

The photograph showed a man tumbling to his death from the north tower in the aftermath of the attacks.

Both men were the victim of the negligence of someone else. The picture circulated widespread in the American press. It was such pictures that shaped the opinion for war on terror.

How long will we wait and watch as corruption keeps taking away lives. Surely, the boy could have been saved if the fire department had full equipment.
