KARACHI, Dec 7: Defending champion and second seed Khizar Aziz chalked up an emphatic 5-2 victory over unseeded Mohammad Yasir to retain the title in the sixth juniors Sindh Snooker Cup at Indus Snooker Parlour on Friday.

Aziz, 19, lived up to his billing registering a commendable 77-5, 62-19, 61-12, 85-10, 41-49, 31-56, 72-15 victory over his opponent in the final. He also piled up the highest break of the competition (68) in the fourth frame of the final which earned him another prize of Rs1,000.

Aziz earned a winning purse of Rs6,000 while Yasir received runner-up prize of Rs3,000.

In addition, the eventual champion also got richer by Rs10,000 presented to him on behalf of Jamil Sakrani, president of the Sindh Snooker Association.

Apart from the two finalists, four other cueists namely Haris Nadeem, Fahad Khan, Shariq Alvi and Usman Khan qualified to represent Sindh in the upcoming fifth national juniors snooker championship being held next month.
