SWABI/LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 23: A police mobile van on Friday narrowly escaped a bomb blast here.

An official said the bomb planted on a bicycle parked on Swabi-Mardan Road went off soon after a mobile van of the City Police Station passed by.

He said a cobbler and a passer-by were injured in the blast, which was aimed at the police van.

The official said the injured, Abdul Wahab and Ashaq Nabi, were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital, where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

He said the police had registered a case against unidentified terrorists and began investigation.

In Lakki Marwat district, unidentified people fired two rocket propelled grenades on a cement factory early on Friday.

The rockets fired from the eastern side of Wanda Ahmad Khan village damaged part of the factory located on Bannu-DI Khan Road.

However, no damage to human life was reported.

A contingent of Haibat Ali Khan Police Station rushed to the area and launched search operation. However, no arrests were made by night.
