SINGAPORE: Pakistan State Oil is seeking up to 815,000 tonnes of fuel oil for delivery over January and February next year, a tender document showed on Friday.

The company is seeking eight 65,000-tonne cargoes of high sulphur fuel oil (HSFO) for delivery over January and February, and two optional cargoes of the same volume and grade for February delivery.

It is also seeking two 55,000-tonne of low sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) for delivery over January to February, and one optional LSFO cargo for delivery in February, the document showed.

Fuel oil is used for power generation in Pakistan and demand usually peaks during winter when heating requirement increases.

This new tender comes on top of its recent LSFO tender, where it is set to buy 55,000 tonnes for December delivery from Galana Petroleum at a premium of $95.00-$97.00 a tonne to Middle East quotes.

The company is also due to award a term tender to buy up to 2 million tonnes of HSFO over a 12-month period.

Ealier this week, PSO floated a tender to seek up to 450,000 tonnes of gasoline and jet fuel.
