Journalist shot dead

QUETTA, Nov 18: A local journalist, Rehmatullah Abid, was gunned down in Panjgur on Saturday evening.

According to police, Mr Abid, who worked for APP and Dunya TV, was going home from a hairdresser’s shop in Washbood area when men on a motorbike opened fire on him. “He was hit by six bullets.”

Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani ordered the officials concerned to submit a report within 24 hours.

He announced compensation of Rs1 million for the victim’s family and ordered the law-enforcement agencies to take all steps for arresting the killers.—Saleem Shahid
