KARACHI, Nov 17: The crime investigation department of the Sindh police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a man allegedly involved in the targeted killing of seven persons and associated with an ‘ethnic group from the interior of Sindh’.

Officials said Ali Asghar was held in Shershah after a brief encounter. A TT pistol and a hand-grenade were seized from him. “The suspect admitted to having got militant training in a camp of a banned outfit in Balochistan,” said a spokesman for the CID anti-extremist cell. “He has killed seven people, including two opponent political activists, in Karachi. The AEC’s operation against targeted killing suspects is on and more arrests are expected.”—Staff Reporter
