THE daily death toll in Karachi gives us a hopeless feeling. Political pundits and TV show anchors make a complicated analysis of the problem which is otherwise very simple to understand.

Looking at the issue of the ownership of the city, the Aman Committee is owned and fully supported by PPP; the MQM is an essential part in the federal and Sindh government and then there is ANP with similar nomenclature.

So when all the stakeholders are in the government and the situation is not improving, it simply means that these parties have other priorities than peace or welfare in the city.

The miscreants are present in all three parties and we know and acknowledge this fact very well. So we have got to believe that there can not be an action against the allies; action taken against government's own party faction is out of question.

Unfortunately, the people of Karachi just sit back and wait for the inevitable. At least in this government tenure nothing much will happen. It is simply against the law of self interests.
