Video shops closed in Kohat

KOHAT, Jan 6: Following the government directives the local police raided dozens of video shops in the city and arrested 13 people for selling obscene films and sealed their shops on Monday.

The city police also removed posters and sign boards from these shops-cum-mini cinema houses and seized 35 video cassettes.

The SSP Abid Ali said the exercise would continue till the elimination of obscenity from such places and those violating the ban would be asked to close their shops permanently.

ELECTIONS: The Kohat Press Club election committee has announced Jan 10 as last date for submission of nomination papers for the elections scheduled for Jan 15.
