LAHORE, Nov 11: The four-day 11th Mystic Music Sufi festival concluded on Sunday night amidst gaiety, fun and a lot of Sufi symphonies.

There was fairly a good audience on the last day of the event. Jackets, sweaters and shawls were order of the night as Rafi Peer Cultural Complex is located at an open place with lush greenery and open fields around. November night was far cooler at the venue as compared to the city.

The venue located at Raiwind Road was illuminated with multi-colour lights and other decorative material. Security measures were adequate as local police and Rafi Peer Theatre’s own guards were seen keeping an eye on the visitors and surroundings.

The festival was a large get-together of artistes from all over the country. Mostly those artistes participated who are into Sufi music, both singers and instrumentalists.

Groups of artistes had come to the festival from far-flung areas such as Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Hunza.

The group from Baltistan won many a heart on Sunday by singing Rumi’s and Tabraiz’s poetry. Similarly Surraiya Khanum also sang sufi poetry. Krishan Lal Bheel from Sindh enthralled the audience with some diverse poetry in Sindhi and Urdu. A Syrian dancer also captivated the audience through his wonderful performance of a whirling dervaish.

The other artistes included Rizwan Moazzam, sarangi player Israr Nabi Bakhsh and Goonga Mithu Saien.
