SUKKUR, Nov 10: Two people belonging to the Chachar community were gunned down reportedly over an old enmity between two groups of the same community in Adilpur city near Ghotki on Saturday.

Sources said Naseer Chachar and Rab Dino Chachar, residents of Mohib Chachar village near Mirpur Mathelo, were coming to attend a court hearing in Ghotki and when they reached near Unner Mohalla of Adilpur city gunmen ambushed them, opened indiscriminate fire and fled.

Naseer Chachar and Rab Dino Chachar died on the spot.

After the incident, the Adilpur police reached the crime scene and took the bodies to Civil Hospital Ghotki for post-mortem examinations.

Later, the bodies were handed over to their relatives.

The police believed that the double murder was the result of an old enmity going back five years when Allah Dino Chachar was killed.

The Saturday killings were said to be in revenge for that murder, the police said.
