MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 4: A police constable was injured in Indian shelling late on Friday in Neelum valley in northeast of Muzaffarabad where shelling continued on Saturday without any physical losses, police said.

The Superintendent of Police, Raja Ghulam Sarwar, told Dawn that constable Mohammad Bashir was wounded near Lawat Khari village in the upper belt of Neelum valley at about 9.35pm on Friday.

He was coming by foot to Tehsil headquarters Athmuqam from his place of posting in Sharda, the SP added.

He said Indian troops resumed shelling on Saturday, targeting the main road along Shahkot village, barely two kilometres off Athmuqam, but no more casualties were reported.
