The resolution listed five points, including one relating to the removal of economic disparity between the two wings and accelerating the pace of industrial and agricultural development in East Pakistan, which the proposed commission and committee should particularly consider.
The four other points are: while appreciating the land reform already promulgated in Pakistan, other steps to ameliorate the economic condition of the cultivator of the soil through methods like cooperative farming, provision of rural credit and insurance of crop etc; to get progressive realisation of the ideals of Islamic socialism through an equitable distribution of the economic resources of the country amongst various classes of the people of Pakistan; to ensure rapid improvement in the condition of labour and to secure for them the right to strike; and to ensure that the primary producer and the consumer get maximum benefit out of the industrialisation of the country.—Staff Correspondent
