Two more Tenants arrested in Okara

OKARA, Jan 3: Law enforcement agencies on Friday arrested two more tenants of the military farms.

A youth, Muhammad Habib, and an elderly man, Baba Dogar of Chak 4/4-L, were arrested and were allegedly kept in the lock-up of the CIA centre, Okara.

DBA ELECTIONS: Seventeen candidates have so far submitted their nomination papers for the DBA elections.

Chaudhry Anwar and Shaikh Najum advocates are in the run for the president slot while Amjad Pervaiz and Rai Abdul Ghafoor Kharal advocates for the secretary-general seat. The elections will be held on Jan 11.

RALLY: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal took out a protest rally against the US for its plan to attack on Iraq.

Led by Syed Amir Hussain Gilani, Dr Cap Liaquat Ali Kausar (retired), the protesters started their march from Gole Chowk mosque and terminated at Venus Chowk after parading through various city roads. The demonstrators shouted slogans against the US and its allies.

COMMITS SUICIDE: A young man allegedly shot himself to death on Friday in Benazir Avenue, Mehr Colony.

Malik Liaquat Ali of Chak 54/2-L was present in the house of his in-laws where he killed himself. The motive behind the incident could not be known.
