Skimmers at ATMs

THIS is apropos of the report about skimmer installed at ATMs (Oct 22). It is an alarming situation. The banking authorities must curb this practice. I request the State Bank to ensure tight security measures while the FIA’s cyber crime should take strong action against culprits.

A message ought to be sent on the mobile of the person as soon as money is withdrawn from his account.

The suggestion regarding SMS is highly appreciated which should be implemented. One suggestion from my side too. Never keep a chit with your ATM card that indicates its number. Some people do it which must be curbed as it's in their own interest.

The suggestion regarding SMS massage is good but who will trace out the culprit. most of the user of ATM through their receipt in the same cabin which is alos dangrous. The bank authorities should watch and insure the such appratus is not installed in their ATM cabin.

Its so easy these days to rob people. The ones at the top are the bigger criminals who steal billions. The ones at the bottom are just ordinary criminals stealing only few millions. Pakistani system is built to favor bigger criminals at top and it will remain the same ever after.
