LAHORE, Oct 22: Two alleged criminals were killed while a police constable was injured during a ‘crossfire’ between four armed suspects and police in Shahdara area on Monday.Police claimed the suspects had opened fire on them when they tried to stop them (suspects) near Begum Kot.

Shahdara circle DSP Mian Khan told Dawn some policemen on patrol duty signalled a car to stop near the cattle market at around 6am. The car-occupants opened fire on the police and injured constable Tabassum.

Policemen returned the fire and managed to burst the rear tyres of the car, but the driver kept driving the car.The police started a chase and found the car abandoned at some distance along a drain near 25 Number Stop.
