ISLAMABAD, Oct 16: In addition to seven outlaws, the police have arrested 30 suspects during a search operation in different parts of the city, police said.

According to details, the Koral police conducted a search operation at residential areas, slums, under-construction buildings, inns and markets and spotted 30 persons acting suspiciously.

These persons failed to produce identification documents or satisfactory reasons behind their stay in the city, which led to their arrest. They were shifted to the police station for further action, including verification of their status from their home districts. Meanwhile, seven persons were arrested from various parts of the city, and valuables and narcotics were recovered from them.

The Kohsar police caught an auto-thief red-handed while trying to make off with the motorbike of Mohammad Raza from the parking of Manal Restaurant.

Similarly, the Bhara Kahu police recovered 450 grams hashish from a drug peddler from Faisal Market, and the Ramna police arrested a man accused of theft, recovering valuables worth Rs25,000.

The Tarnol police apprehended two persons for involvement in an attempted robbery at a house in Badhana. The Shahzad Town police on suspicion intercepted a man and recovered a 30-bore pistol.

Separate cases were registered against the detained persons and further investigations are in progress.
